How's things ?
Yo Lance welcome, I am glad to see you around here. Last time I talked to you was on the gear page which I frequented a little back then.
Oh man...  I thought we were getting a new member!  Not a hand-me-down from the Watering Hole!  ::)

(Hi Lance! :D )
Hey Lance, welcome back :)
Let the party begin!
Hey guys

Thanks for the welcome.

Jeeez, it's been a long time, lots has happened since the old days, believe it or not I'm even more insane now than I was then...is that even possible?  :)
Hi Lance, good to see you again.  So what have you been doing guitarwise?

Jon
Hi Jon

Nice to speak to you again, hope you're well.

Guitarwise, if you mean my playing, I've gone seriously backwards in the last few years...too many 'other' things happened in my life and playing guitar took a back seat.

I've been living in an apartment for the last 18 months, so no tube amps and pedals, and very little playing guitar.....recently got a Pod HD500 that I'm playing through my old Studio Monitors, now I'm trying to remember how to actually play the guitar. :)

Hey Lance!

Good to hear from you.
My South African brother! So nice to see you again...

Wow!...four years has gone by so quickly, it's already time for the next World Cup, time for SAfrica to thump the English again. :)

You wish :)

Think it is pretty open - it is more about NZ  - will they get the shits again.

SA v England final - the game had changed so much now  I couldn't call that.
SA play an old fashioned game.

I has to be NZ - or maybe the frogs.

Then if not - Eng or SA

Or even Aus  - who have to be dark horses by being nobodies pick.

The usual 5 though,

Btw guys

In mid 2009 Gibson pulled out of SAfrica, they stopped distribution in a bunch of "small" countries because as they put it, it "wasn't worth their while".

Anyway, when I heard about it I jumped at the opportunity, I sent an e mail to Tokai Japan telling them Gibson was no longer in SAfrica and I'd like to distribute Tokai in SAfrica,
30 minutes after sending the mail I received a reply from the President of Tokai Gakki.
The current President's father started Tokai in 1947.
They still operate out of the original factory, so we're talking about a "family" business here...pretty amazing in today's times.

To cut a very long story short, after a few weeks of discussion my sister (the Advocate) drew up a distribution contract/agreement and the President of Tokai and I signed it.... I became the sole distributor in SAfrica.

Keep in mind, Tokai were last in SAfrica in 1980, so the old generation of the guitarists knew about them, but the new generation was pretty clueless.
Even before my first order arrived I had a website up and running, I knew I had to make SA guitarists aware of the history of Tokai....it's amazing how much mis-information there is out there, especially on the internet, about Tokai.

Here's my website.

I'd bet my apartment on New Zealand winning it...unless as you say, they choke again...but I doubt it, especially in New Zealand. :)
I think this time SA will fall short, especially in the New Zealand conditions.

And of course the Cricket WC is about to start.
Tough one to call, I think India will win it (with their SAfrican coach), perhaps England or the Aussies...maybe SAfrica if we don't choke again.

Nice looking stuff there, and good for you, I hope you do well with this new enterprise. of course South Africans need those Tokai guitars, and it is up to you to get them to those folks.
Looks like you have got a good biz going there with Tokai, good luck with that.

On the Rugby - I just have the feeling that NZ will be under even more pressure at home to win and choke against France again in a QF or SF.

Cricket - my bet would be a sub continent side - probably India, but maybe Pakistan or Sri Lanka.
Just checked the odds on the WC - a tenner is going on England with those numbers

New Zealand             18/19
Australia                   9/2
South Africa              6
England                    12
France                      12
South Africa won the Rugby Sevens tournament in Las Vegas today - are some of the same players part of the normal team?
Different  players -
I guess there can be movement between the two
though I can't remember anyone going from sevens to 15s
Holy shit!!  Hey, Lance!  Long time no see.  Glad to  see you though.

Nope, not one of the sevens players is in the 15 man rugby team, who are the current World Champions.
