I took a swim with my 2 week old env2 from lg on sat. In the pool for an hour and of course no insurance. My aunt suggested putting the phone in a ziplock bag with uncooked rice. Holy crap, the phone works fine now. It was friggin dead as dead can be too.
sweet.
bon
That's awesome info.
Man, the Chinese make all the good stuff.
Great, auntie knows her stuff
Sure, sure. Auntie knew that it would work as soon as it dried out completely. The rice trick was just to make sure you realized that you're still just a punk. ;) ;D
Makes you wonder what the principal at work was, eh? Does the rice suck the water away?
I'm guessing but it seems logical that rice, which must absorb water in the cooking process to become what we think of as edible, cooked rice, would naturally absorb any moisture in the air. Putting the phone in a small space with some rice pretty much ensures any moisture leached into the remaining air would then transfer to the overly dry rice, not unlike a sponge.
Cool call, auntie! (Pun intended! :P )
Will minute rice work? I'm in a hurry.

Classic.
Reminds me of the time my son ran my "original" Pod through the washer. It soaked for half a day, too. When I got it out, I let it air dry for a couple days and it works fine... except it doesn't save programs.

LOL Deano... Good to see ya :)
Good to see you too, Paul. It's funny that this place is now happening. Remember you, me and Rich had a conversation here right after Charger set it up over a year ago.
Yup. pioneers is what we are... ;)
I did that a couple weeks ago (phone in pool). I threw it on the dash of the car in 95 degree heet all afternoon and it worked that night.
Very interesting....
I'm wandering if Randy's Armadillos could get alive again if he gave them some rice after the drawning ????
The battery is not holding a charge. I guess i need to replace it. Should only cost 20 bucks though. Not bad considering the alternative.
