Looking to give it a decent try but most of my contacts don't seem to be on it. Anyone using it?
No. Wouldn't mind an invite. ;)
Ditto. Waiting to get in.
Looks like another social disease I will avoid. ::)
Never heard of it.
edit: just googled it and watched the demo.....need to try it, can't really make an opinion based on the demo.
It looks very cool actually... But like I said, like 8 of my email contacts are using it. I added all the bertcavers to a BertCave circle but I'm not sure if that actually does anything...
as of now, you have to get an "invite" from someone who's already in, because people are joining so fast they can't handle "open enrollment."
It says members have an "invite" button and can invite others, but right now that's the only way we could get in.
Ahah!
I will invite some folks...
if you need gmail addresses for the invite, mine is HowieC34 at gmail
send me an invite too Charger. desert.bluesman at g mail don't forget the dot between desert and bluesman.
Invites sent. Anyone else?
For those who might be interested, I was sent this link today:
How Google+ is built
I am Dave Gagliardi so add me to your circles. I have Charger in my circle so far.
Or it could be Desert Bluesman one or the other.
I'm always open to new ventures, so invite me and I'll sign up !
Invitation sent Jon. I'm just not beginning to learn how to use this... I'm sure Charger will help us get going.
Charger, are you going to do a Bert Cave circle?
I have everyone in a bertcave circle already. Here's the thing... the circles are your own... your method of organization.
It seems I can still invite people, so if anyone else wants an invite please post.
Thanks for the invite Charger!!

Nothing received. Did you use my usual email address ?

So each one of us will have to make our own "Bert Cave" circle... ok. I'm on it.
Not sure how active I would be but I would like to check it out.
I got the Bert Cave Circle going. And all of you that I know about is on that circle.
I'm there under my real name at gmail dot com (Brian Vitellaro)...have to get in the habit of logging on more regularly.

Yep, I got you in my Bert Cave Circle, and of course long time friends on Facebook...
Hey guy's, I wouldn't mind an invite to this (andy.dobson63@gmail.com).
It would be good to have a way to keep up with you all without having to face facebook et al.

Yo spud add me to your circle when you do get on. Dave Gagliardi is my name and rock and roll is my game........
"Shahir El-Shaieb". Just had an invite to join Google+ from this person. Anyone here? Or do I avoid this invite and wait for someone I know to invite me in?
Hi Dave (DBM). Of course you'll be added to my circle once it all happens.

That's cool then, thanks :)
As a software developer, I must say that I don't find google+ to be that intuitive. So far, facebook gets my vote, but that may change as it progresses.
I dunno, try following some people? Imagine Google+ with all the people you have on facebook? I've got maybe 1/4 of my facebook friends but it already feels like a richer experience... to me, facebook now looks like the flat world... circles alone are worth it to me, I know you can organize your friends into lists in facebook but it's a royal pain, and no one does it, I certainly don't. This way I see the stuff I want to see. Also seems to be more content and information rich in general. follow some photographers... check out the way photos work... etc.
If Facebook is smart and sees the value of circles and launches something similar that isn't cumbersome like the groupings it currently has and allows you to select specific lists when sending things like Google+ does, it'll still win.
But Google+ is pretty good, I have to say.

since we're all new, this would be a good place to post tips as Charger did above so that we can get more into it.
A good place to start is checking out the list of folks that the Huffington Post recommends you follow. Note that these are non-political (except for Huffington herself)--many of them are technology folks, some are engineers on the Google+ team. Anyway, you follow a couple of those, and then see some of the articles they recommend, and pick up people from those, and it all spirals. It's not Facebook, no one has to friend you back--you can follow anyone and see their public posts. There are a lot of really interesting photographers out there.
Here are some quick links:
61 (the number changes constantly) photographers to follow - (hint--add them to a circle called "photos" or whatever, then when you want to see photos, view just that stream):

35 people you should follow from huffington post (again, I just viewed these folks pages to find other folks to follow)
