(I've loved this song since FenderBender first played the intro - this is the only cover I've ever seen and it's a damn good one!)
It is almost as good - a great player

The real difference is  GG improvises this creatively all the time.

I am not even a huge fan - I totally respect the awesomeness of the playing.

I like GG more mentally more than soul wise though.
Has huge  dollops of feel and massive dollops of technique.
He is not some stupid pattern shredder.
It just misses something.

I suspect that GG will be better musically now  as he ages - done the circus stuff.
I hope he works with Jeff Beck at some point.

It cracks me up when the police car goes by and he immediately mimics the siren then adds a horn sound. :D
Ha!  That Guitar Hero video made me laugh too.  First I noticed the nice pattern the intro makes on their fretboard (yeah, I've though about learning it - no time yet), but then I see the animated guitarist and he's just playing in a box!  It's just such a contrast to how that intro is really played. ;D
