The Watering Hole

Listening to Music

I've listened to a few tracks of the remastered Beatles album. I have to say they have done an outstanding job. I thought it was probably just a gimmick, but boy was I wrong! The clarity of the recordings make them sound brandnew, the stereo seperation is great, worth a listen to
The box set is on my "once I get money" list.  :)
I have so many of their songs on MP3, I just loaded them into my MP3 Player yesterday of course the quality is analog but for the price, I can't complain. I never listen to music at home anymore except when my wife has all that broadcast garbage on the TV, I hate the sound of it, that is why I bought the MP3 Player). I just listen in the car, and I have all that stuff burned to CD (hundreds of CD's) Mostly stuff from the 1960's, all good road music. Plus in the Car there is not much difference because of the road noise.
I have just never "got it" where the beatles is concerned.  There are one or two songs I like, but mostly it's just cheesy pop. Granted there are some catchy tunes in there, but overall the sound is too childish. Then of course there is sergent peppers, oh don't get me started on that load of drivel.
What does Yoko Ono have in common with Ethiopians?

They both live off of dead beatles.  :D
Finally had a chance to hear some of this yesterday (got Revolver, Past Masters, and White Album).

HOLY SHIT!

These remasters make the older CD versions sound like complete shit. Everything is punchier, clearer, and more intimate-sounding at the same time, like you're really sitting there in the studio hearing the songs (when they're not being crazy with studio trickery).

I think they sound utterly fantastic.

The stereo separation is a bit off-putting at times, though.
