The Watering Hole

Listening to Music

FINALLY got around to listening to this record. HO-LY SHIT!

In case you hadn't heard of this, it's a bit of a supergroup:
Glenn Hughes - Lead vocals (on most tunes), bass
Joe Bonamassa - Lead guitar, vocals (on a couple of songs)
Jason Bonham - Drums
Derek Sherinian - Keyboards

Glenn Hughes has never sounded as good as he does on this record. I didn't realize he was this awesome a singer until I heard this. He was Chris Cornell before Chris Cornell.

Great playing, great songs, just fucking straight-up hard rock with a bluesy edge. It stomps. Ripping guitar playing, too.

If you like that sort of thing, I will honestly be shocked if you don't like this. Very live-sounding album (produced by Kevin "Caveman" Shirley).

Up there with my favorite albums of the year, for sure.

hmm, sounds like a "need to check this out" album.
I've heard a few tunes from this - good stuff! :)
