Listening to Music

Any new stuff you've listened to lately? New artist or just new stuff that's good?
Nope.  Nothing new at all.  :D ;)
Davy Knowles!
I wish I had something for ya, but I don't find the blues very inspiring anymore at all.

It's like watching one of those sports movies - you just know exactly what's going to happen next...and it may be huge for the person expressing themselves through it, but I just don't care anymore.

So, sorry... :(

+1 Joe B.  One of the best live players I've seen.

What do you like Hook?  Country blues like Keb Mo or more rock oriented?

I love me some blues.  I'll put up some samples when I get time.
I love me some blues too, especially Howlin' wolfe...you just can't beat that voice. I've never heard any better than old chester!
Howlin' Wolfe is a favorite of mine too.  Just the mention of his name sticks that Spoonful rif in my head.

I like some Muddy Waters and Albert King.  They Bluesmen Deluxe as well.
Hey Hookey! Try Robben Ford for some cool "jazzy" blues based stuff. the guy really mixes thhe two genre's very well. Joe B is another +. For Brit based blues check out an album by ex Whitesnake axeman Bernie Marsden called Green and Blues. It's a real lesson in Peter Green/early Fleetwood Mac tracks. A REAL treat!! For something a little different, check out an album by Free vocalist Paul Rogers called Muddy Water Blues. He basically covers a shedload of Muddy's tracks using the same backing band but with the like's of Jeff Beck, Dave Gilmore, Slash, Gary Moore, Brian Setzer and a whole bunch of others as the lead guitarist on each track. Well worth getting hold of IMHO.

Best of luck

Sorry I haven't responded to your post. I actually forgot I started this thread. ;D

I like Joe B. I have his latest CD and others.

I've decided I like Joe, but only from time to time. I really don't care much for "rock blues", as in modern. I like old stuff with a new twist, by new artist, with a new feel.

I also pay attention to tone. I like a dark woody tone, Jimmy Vaughn tone, sorry if I mis-spelled that. I actually have his guitar and love it.

Just wondering if someone may have heard something that sounded new and fresh, regardless of tone, but not rockish like Joe B.

Thanks!
