Another 'Americana' artist. Borderline too country in some songs for me but not the twang or fake shite in every song that makes me not like that genre. Some of his music grabs me.

Finely crafted lyrics and emotion in the backing music. Well spoken in interviews. Real.

The guitarist that plays with him (Sadler Vaden) is just incredible - check out any live vids. He really knows how to comp and support the songs. The rest of the band is pretty damn good too.

Flying Over Water - Live from the Ryman made me a fan.

I think he is one of the greatest living American songwriters. His songs move me to tears.  Southeastern is a "no skip" album for me. Every song on that is gold.
