Listening to Music

I ran across Rick Beato's vids one day while looking for info on perfect pitch. Check out his 8 year old demonstrating his perfect pitch and how he developed it. Alas too late for me but I also started on his series about what he thinks makes particular songs great. He breaks them down, points out unique or outstanding elements and kind of helps you hear deeper into the mix and also plays some parts, etc.

I never gave this song a second of my attention, my tastes were too focused on heavier rock but through his analysis I ended up amazed by the true quality of the recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLoh8zHjGUI

Contrary to popular belief my tastes and appreciation for different genres and artists is expanding as I get older!
Why did it have to be that song?  I still can't give it a second of my attention.  ;D

I dated a girl in the early eighties that just loved that song.  I couldn't stomach it then and found I couldn't get too far into the drum beat before I killed it now.

It's tainted forever to me.  It'll never be a great song.  I won't allow it!! ;D ;D

I'm sure I have a great song or two that falls into an equal category for you guys.
That's a good series. I like Rick's channel.
DM  ;D

Yep. It will never be in my playlist. In retrospect I should have linked to another song!  :-[
Ok, I always thought Rosanna was a pretty cool song.  Oh well!

Here's a different song to get Toto out of your head: https://youtu.be/mrJ0xnXv_IQ   ;)
I think that was the second one I watched in the series. It was excellent!

Made me think of you messing with George @ Line6, and trying to get them to add Rockman models.  ;D
Yep.  I enjoyed the Boston track.  That's the first I've seen of Rick (save the 3 second Rosanna intro ;D)

I ,like Rick, first heard that just after it's release when my older brother bought it.  We too played the crap out of it.

I loved that Danelectro!  Cool video. I'll subscribe, thanks.
