You guys that like Pork Tree and Opeth (softer side) and or Floyd check them out. Really cool moody stuff.

listened to a few previews on iTunes - good stuff! like the older material best so far... which album, if you were to pick just one to start with, would you recommend?
That's a tough one for me - I just bought their first 3 discs after hearing them for years at progpalaceradio.com. I would probably start with Second Life Syndrome, that's the one that really first caught my ear. The thing is with them, now that i have the first 3, I can hear a definite progression from them. The first disc (Out of Myself) is really good on it's own, but Second Life Syndrome is that much better, and so far my opinion of Rapid Eye Movement is that its a step up from SLS. So if you don't start with the first disc, it may be a let down when you do eventually get to it, if that makes any kind of sense :)
start at the beginning sounds like a plan
I like the direction their music has gone as they've matured. Their first CD had some cliche stuff that I didn't care for (like the talking with a crackly radio in the background or flirting with some Cookie vocals), but the rest of their CD's are VERY listenable! Good melodic stuff. My favorite song is off of SLS though: I Turned You Down. The guitar is very much what I was shooting for when I got my last custom with a Sustainer (since removed) and a Floyd - even including rocking the volume knob which I made sure was close enough for my pinky finger to reach. Eventually, I'll get the clip-on Sustainiac and be able to get to that area again.
The newest CD (Anno Domini High Definition) has a few parts that return to the cliches, but it also features some really cool synth parts that I just love. :)
Haven't heard the third disk. Funny, I actually prefer Out of Myself. Cookie? I don't remember their being any Cookie in it.
I love the guitarists tone on the first disc. Nice.
