Here's a quick test using a Marshall Guvnor pedal (no amp) straight into Reaper with some post eq on the pedal (in reaper) and then into one of Charger's impulse cabs (EV1290-RodeNTK-close-offaxis_10_dc) then added a lexcon reverb room
Timing goes off a bit in places as this is a difficult song to count.
Anyway, what do you think?

Sounds good to me. Tone was right in there, and the playing was real good.

After listening to this again I should have thought twice before posting it LOL ;D The timing is all over the place, mind you this was just a tone test to see if there was any mileage in the Marshall Guvnor pedal, which is not too bad I think.
Next time I have a go at something like this I will play the bass part first to get that solid with the groove as I did it the other way around and it sort of got lost LOL, anyway, I ain't proud it is what it is.
and thanks DBM by the way !
edit: and also pick a drum pattern that fits ;D

I tried to salvage this by cutting out the really out of time bit and simplifying the drum track.
So here it is again (different cab too)

it doesn't sound so bad for what it is... but I'm not really a fan.

That's what I thought. Considering the tone is coming from just a cheap Marshall distortion pedal with no amp at all it's not too shabby.

one more for luck, this time with the germanium4 pedal
