man, that song and intro video brought so many memories of my childhood back to me, it's ridiculous.

1977... a good year to be 7. ;)
Sheep, I think you have missed the point.  1977 WAS a great year... to be 17.   ;)
*Sheesh* By 1977 I'd already lost my virginity and began my youthful hatred with disco...  ;D

(Of course, by now I feel like I've earned my virginity back and disco doesn't sound that bad anymore!  ;) :D  ::) )
how exactly do you earn your virginity back?  I'm just curious, but I'm sure women everywhere would love to know!  8-)
apparently there was a fear that a rapist was on the loose and all the local virgins hid in a telephone box  :)

By not having any for awhile!  No money means no dates.  Even my cheap and easy thrill girls have been buried trying to earn a living themselves so I haven't seen them for a few months now...  ::)
Same year

I like Carly.

Thin Lizzy is my all time favorite band.  I was so bummed when I heard the sad news about Phil.  Some fine recordings.

I was 34 that year, stoned out of my mind many days, just divorced from the first wife, a musician fucking a different gal every night I played out. WTF happened to me I got old and boring.
1977
I was 18, I'd been in the Navy for 2 years, my first ship posting on HMAS Brisbane.
We started the year with a trip to Hawaii the day I turned 18, had 14 days at Pearl Harbour, 5 Days Maui (got really, REALLY stoned for the first time ;D), then went to San Diago for 4 weeks, sailed back to Australia via Fiji.
Had some time back home then sailed for England via Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Gibraltar.
Docked at Portsmouth two weeks, Plymouth 5 days, did exercises with the Royal Navy and French Navy up in the North Sea
We went for review at Spithead for the Queens Silver Jubilee, with Navies from all over the world, then docked next to the HMS Belfast in London for 10 days before we sailed back to Australia via Antwerp, Toulon, Bombay, Hong Kong, Singapore, Subic Bay.

When in England it was the first time I heard this

Left home wearing denim jeans, flannel shirt and desert boots, came home wearing leather pants, padded T-shirt, pierced ear and Doc Martens

Damn Fine Year, changed my life forever  8-)
1977 I was also 18 and doing HSC, year 12, last year of high school. In a band playing (wait for it) 10cc covers! Playing a walnut coloured hard tail strat, which I've still got, though a Peavey Standard (long gone thank God!) though a check clothed 1960A ( wish I still had that!). On the road in my old EH station wagon ( only the Aussies will know what that is). A bit coy with the girls (oh if I knew then what I know now!) And now we are 50!
