testing out the Canon HD camcorder, although this is not HD - I shot it in HD then reduced the size for youtube, too long to wait to upload full HD.  

The lighting wasn't good (shooting against the light) but still damn good all the same.

So let me ask you this Jon....as I didn't get a chance to fuck with this this weekend like I wanted to....are you micing the amp and recording to your DAW or are you getting everything off the video camera?

The guitar was being picked up by just the camcorder mics, hence the nice (well I like it) room sound.

I then mixed in the direct sound from the backing track.

I will have another go at it this weekend and mic the amp up properly.

amp is wide open.... where is the Hotplate set?  And how loud in the room?

The hotplate is set at -16db and the hotplate volume set to 10 o'clock.   In the room it is room ambience level...in other words quite loud to get the room reflecting well but you could still talk over it (in a very loud voice)
