What do you think?

I'm at work (average range speakers) but shit, that sounds GREAT to me!

Same here! I'm at work and thru ear plugs headphones it sounds really good !
This evening I'll listen to it with better speakers. Anyway, the better are the speakers, the better is the sound, so... :)

Ciao!
Marco
Ok guys please let me know your final decision after listening through decent speakers. I am excited. :)
FWIW - I thought it sounded great through my better-than-average PC speakers.   :)

It didn't seem to capture any tapping on that sample though...  ;)  :D
Yeah Zonta, sounds really good.  What amp are you using there?
I can confirm my first impression ! :)

Ciao !
Marco
Guys that was actually an Audix i5 Impulse Response (Mesa Rectifier V30 cab) mixed slightly (%15) with a SM57 (Bogner Ubercab T75 cab) IR!

It is the iFace 1.6 VST plugin (freeware) loaded with Redwirez Impulses.

And there was no real amp at all! I used the VST plugin called Poulin Lextac (freeware) with this settings:

However, distortion comes from Fulltone Plimsoul pedal. When I switch the pedal off, amp is totally clean.

So the basic chain is:

guitar>fulltone plimsoul>lextac vst plugin (as the amp)>iface vst plugin (as the cabinet)

Reverb is VST also. And there are also some other VST plugins used like equalizer, compressor, etc.

Plimsoul is the backbone of the tone there. When you try it with the amp sim plugin's gain, the result is crap. However, the clean tone of that plugin is amazing (it is actually a Bogner Ecstasy emulation)  and that's why the Plimsoul blooms there. Speaking of the cabinet IR's, it is the library that Sheep uses also (Redwirez Impulses) and can be described as "too good to be true".

So the moral of the story is that, never underestimate the power of digital!  ;D
(when it comes to recording)

haha very cool Zonta!  I have played with some of Lepou's stuff, it's pretty surprising actually.  That Plimsoul sounds very nice...
Well that Plimsoul not only sounds like a Marshall lead channel but it acts like one also. Its touch responsiveness is beyond belief.

I am in love with it.  :)
That sounds really good.
Thank you Jon.  :)
Fabulous tone & playing...nuff said!  ;)
Thanks man!  :)
sounds great!

do you have any trouble getting it to sit in a mix? I'm finding the redwirez, while they sound awesome, are somewhat more difficult to mix than mic'ed tones were. it's not impossible or anything, just more effort required it seems.
Sheep I was thinking the same until I tried this:

Without some room ambiance, redwirez IR's sound sort of isolated in the mix. Actually ValhallaRoom plugin was turned off in the first clip (there was a plate reverb in send however) because there is no need for it when the lead track is alone but when it goes into the mix I certainly turn it on.

Here is an example:

All the settings are exactly same with the first clip, I haven't touched anything. The only difference is that ValhallaRoom plugin is turned on.

To my ears the lead track sits well in the mix in this clip. What do you think? If you want to give Valahalla a try, let me know.

before I listen... as a preemptive strike against GAS... what platform does it run on? mac version compatible with Logic available?

don't want to torture myself... ;)

I'll check it in a bit - away from good speakers atm.
OSX: AU | AU64 | VST | RTAS

That does it?
yep!
Go get it then. :)

If you decide to buy, don't do that before telling me!
it sounds good but not so good that I want it... I'm not sure it's covering any ground I can't get to already, if I want it.

GAS averted!!
