(that clips was done about 10 firmware revisions ago. it went from 5.04 to 7.0x
heres a clip i just did of me running through the 1st few clean presets with no stops, editing, processing, etc. i have some weird phasing thing going on that i have to figure out, but i just got my audio interface and it's a beast to configure.

Wow. The fx on the clean sounds are insanely deep. I'm not blown away by the distorted sound, but it definitely sounds "real" and mic'ed... I like the way you got it set up off-axis to sound like the Bogner sample. Everything sounds a little dark, are you using a humbucker with the tone rolled off or something?
Nice sounds. I know this is going to make me sound like a tool, but I like the Axe FX cllips better than the Bogner clip...
I am telling you.....you guys have to come to Kentucky for Bertcavepalooza......and check this thing out. I heard it on the OLD software and it was just beyond ridiculously awesome. This thing will fuck with your head once you get your hands on it. It's ridiculous.

i'm using a PRS with the neck bucker. the mahogany body has a really dark vibe.
the distorted sound was from the 5.xx firmware. i just upgraded to 7.xx a day or so ago. i'll get some dirty clips up tonight!

All the clips sound pretty cool Chase, I really liked that effect on the last clean preset.
heres a few dirty presets. same deal as before, i'm just scrolling through these in realtime on my controller. no editiing, eq, trimming etc. these are just some presets i tweaked using the axe through a real cab and poweramp. the cab modeling needs some adjusting after listening back, as its pretty boomy, dark, etc. in some places.

that's why I should never own one of these! To cross thread reference... If I had one of these all I'd do is mindless wanking. Turn the knob and play something that sounds cool with THAT tone. Then on to the next one. Like I was when I got my first POD, except this sounds orders of magnitude better. I eventually tired of the artificial tone of the POD but this thing kills. (Yeah, I heard it live 12 firmwares ago).
It is SO close to the real thing. But with so many awesome combinations of amp, effect etc. that the small degree that's missing is quickly lost in all the other things it does. This is POD, gone audiophile! ;D

You say that as if it's a bad thing. :D
it still is missing something direct. when you push it through a real cab (even with digital poweramp only) it is indistinguishable from the real thing for me. the poweramp/preamp modeling is already there. when the processors catch up on the cab modelling aspect it will be complete.
How does it do a bluesy just breaking up sound? The cleans sound good, but the older I get the less I seem to like the bognor type sound....must be becoming an old coot ;D I don't really like the "soft" distorted sound, I like a sound to have more bite, but of course that's just my opinion.

Can you disable the compressor and gate and get clean un buzzy sound on the overdrives and cleans with the dynamics of a tube amp?

No need I take your word for it. I guess I have to add this to my tone quest. However I am still on the hunt for a good tube amp. Probably need to add a grand to the $1200 I am getting back from zZounds.

thats the cool part. you can upload your own into it. you have 3 options....
- MONO HIRES: Mono 1024 sample convolution
- MONO LORES: Mono 512 sample convolution
- STEREO: Stereo 512 sample convolution
