I bought one of these yesterday on a whim.....what a pile of crap....the quickest amp I have ever owned...it is now on ebay :-)
A really horrible sound.

did you even try a tube swap? That amp was an Editors Pick in Guitar Player as a great value, and good sounding amp.
could it be about what speaker ?
You'll have to get a second one if you want Joan to show up though... ;) ;D
Fingers: Speaker wise, I have only tried it through the speaker in the C30 (disconnected from the C30 of course). When you crank the Blackheart it goes into breakup/distortion but it is so flubby on the low end that it is unusable for me. The only way to make the low end usuable is to completely backoff the bass, but then it's just a horrible clangy high-end sound (hurt the ears tone)...really horrible. It doesn't have a nice feel to playing through it either. I certainly wouldn't believe all the hype that the guitar magazines spout about this amp, it is shit...period. There is so much high frequency buzz coming from this amp, truly nasty.

I am sorry for your misfortune, Jon ... but i would pay a little extra to read a review like this in a guitar magazine!! ;D ;D ;D
Ciao !
Marco
That's a good point Marco.....It is no wonder that guitar magazines rave about every bit of equipment they review as of course they also carry adverts for the very same equipment ;)
