The Watering Hole

Alright this only took several years to fucking get figured out.  What you are about to see is THE 45 minute "Jam From Hell". This will be helpful in understanding the phrase "JAM WHORE".

This was THE last jam at the very first Wateringholestock a few years ago.  It would be a lie to say that we hadn't played this song before.  It took a lot to get this one.  We had gear malfunctions....video cameras crapping out.  But finally we got it recorded.  It's very early in the wee hours of Monday when we did this....I actually was back at work that morning....fucking working!  

Rik plays rhythm on the whole thing.  At the time he was a not a lead man.  He can do it now.  You will see the poor bastard shaking his hands out from time to time.  45 minutes is a long ass time to be playing bar chords!

Jamie plays lead and Rhythm.  If you're a Jamie fan....he gets lots of love in this as he plays every other solo!  (And you say I'm a jam whore!)

Charger and I switch back and forth on drums and guitars.  Charger and I also put our rigs together.  I had a Line 6 Vetta at the time and the patch was a Jimi Patch that I had made and then we used a combo of charger's Rat and a XXL....at least that's what I used! hehehehe  He may have used his Sabbot on this.  (And Yes I did finger tap!  Fuck you Howie)

A big shout out goes to Mark...without whom him pointing me in the right direction I wouldn't have finally gotten this shit converted.  It's been a bitch.  I had to go from my DVD format....to AVI.....to MPEG4.....edit this shit so it wouldn't be too big for Youtube.

that's probably the honorary chair placed where I would have been sitting if they filmed it a day earlier when I was there.   :D :D

sadly, they sound better this way (with me gone).  Charger pointing towards an empty chair is more true to my recordings as well.   ;D

Rik was playing one chord wrong (remember, at this point, Rik was still pretty much a beginner, and had never played this song).  After 25 minutes or so, it started to bug me.  I had the changes written down on a piece of paper, so I was pointing to them.  I like my solo after that-- a little controlled mayhem.

I understand why - but a walk over playing the right chords right  in front of him so he could look see.

BUT you were competing for time  with the jam bitch from hell that is FB and he don't give a shit about such things.

So yes - I understand :)

Was there no bass player? Weird.

And ABSURDLY long. I don't think I could stand playing Little Wing that long, especially with no singing.

They are good changes to play over, though.

I'm still a little bummed I wasn't able to go to this one.

It didn't FEEL that long.  There had been a bass player.....a couple actually. But this was THE last jam.  All the other gear was broke down and packed up.
