My Peavey DB miked:

The mic is an SM57 and the preamp is a Roland MMP-2. Gain is coming from Boss OD-20's Marshall Guvnor. Actually there are more than 20 other distortion/drive pedals on OD-20 but I insist using the Guvnor cos' I like it the best.
I find the tone to be pretty acceptable yet I want to know what you guys also think. So comment please, even if you don't like it (may not be your cup of coffe but a coffe is still a coffe :D). You could point out somethings I am missing out because I am very "into" it atm so a couple of fresh ears' opinion is very welcome.
Nice. Great playing! That's a thick tone! But maybe almost too thick, like it needs to actually be a little thinner somewhere to give it better clarity, crazy as that sounds...I wouldn't boost something though, since it already sounds ok in the mids and highs (to me anyway), something could be cut to fix it right up. :)
Great! :)
After listening it a couple of times I can see what you were talking about. I do hear it now which would be impossible without someone else who knows his shit pointing out. ;)
May be you could type "go listen to my Quick Rod w/BB Preamp (Test Clip) clip at reverbnation.com and you'll get what I mean". I love it. :)
Ok here is a remix with cut low end:

Sounds much better this way.
Still digging the tone in Quick Rod w/BB Preamp (Test Clip) clip btw. Can you please share the details Derek?
Yep, there you go, I like that more as well, maybe (personal pref, no biggie) a dash of verb or delay on the lead for some ambience but otherwise, it's cool! And again, those chops are nice!
edit: lol, thanks! That was just a tester clip but it turned out better than I woulda hoped - it's so different when making a stand alone/solo tone clip vs what actually works in a mix! Really, there is nothing to that - the details are not "detailed" at all :P ...Charvel w/Super Distortion and PAF Pro (I made sure I used both pups in the clip, can even hear the clicks when I changed), Quick Rod, old 1960A cab. Mic'd a heritage GB and v30 (with MD421 and e906). Lexicon vst verb added later.
The opening and final chords are raw amp - all the lead lines are with the BB pedal engaged and that is what's so awesome, I mean you cannot tell when I click it on and off and the tone doesn't change, yet it adds that subtle extra juice and makes the amp more liquidy and playable!! :)
I liked the tone myself. Not much to say, it fits the genera well..... Great playing.
