a jam and a pieced together thing.
the jam is using what I believe should be standard equipment on one or the other... machine + riddle is a perfect combo!
the other thing is an odd sandwich with a crowded mix. the bread parts are kinda nice though, imo.

Holy shit at 2:30. Sounds like a synth doing a french horn sound. That is impressive, sounds like a late 80's analog synth. I'm guessing that's the riddle providing some sort of enveloped attack. Your note choice on that is also excellent.
yeah, that's the riddle providing the filter envelope - once I find that dynamic edge, it sounds pretty synthy! the machine gets mostly hidden under the low pass filter unless the attack is harder or the guitar volume is up and the envelope lets it though... then it's just madness. lots of fun playing around those boundaries!
the notes there were kind of un-chosen in the sense that there wasn't a plan... I seem to do better with that when I'm not trying to do something for some theoretical reason... gets me into trouble. I mean, I'm finding that the coolest notes are, often times, the ones I would have decided to not play if I were thinking about it. by "it", I mean key, scale, mode or other blah blah blah. anti-theory... like the George Costanza school of guitar. it's weird but it kinda works for me lately, so I'm just leaving it be! lol.
Really Good stuff. I enjoyed that. Sounds a little like a slide at the end of the second one. Really cool sounds.
revised the one with the suspect middle - http://www.soundcloud.com/ironsheep/pulp
also trying out the new url... heh.
machineriddles works for me, great stuff.
Pulp sounds good. A little different from what I've heard from you lately. Sounds more structured. I like it. Was that new mugshot on location. You've let your hair grow out. ;D
my picture quit smoking. well, better him than me! ;D
thanks guys -- I should edit out the trem crap on that machine one and put it over there, that envelope stuff is kinda cool.
