Beautiful playing as usual Marco, still the amp is far too bright for my old ears. My Hot Rod Deluxe is way darker/fatter sounding than anything I have experience with, and that is the tone I have been searching for for many many years. Still in your hands the X2 sounds awesome. just too bright for me.

And by the way I have researched the X2 and watched many-many videos and sound clips and those who do try to make it darker and fatter, go into mud territory rapidly. I have never heard one of them make it into the super fat and darker but still clear realm of the Hot Rod Deluxe. (It may also be the Tonespotter speaker in the Hot Rod Deluxe and the JJ tubes).
VERY nice, Marco!
Thanks all for listening!  :)

DBM, yes the amp sound bright in my recording (it's the sound I like :) ) but the beauty is in its versatility!
A video on YT that sounds really close to the real thing is this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvcFDbtd7MA
Anyway is a matter of tastes..as always! :)

Ciao!
Marco

nice sound, very nice!

is the delay/verb from the amp's effects or added later?
Marco, try that #1 position (Champ).  I love that thing.
DTR, from what I read, they switched amp models completely from V1 to V2 (to the Mustang amps set or something), so I'm sure that first amp model isn't the same as on ours.  The other thing is that you can probably edit out the heavy compression that tends to dominate sounds on the V1.  I love my V1 through the 12" speaker I'm using now, but the compression doesn't totally lend itself to using it in a real live situation.
Charger, I read that as well about some of the models being changed.  Don't know if it's all of them or not...

Also read, and this is a heads up for Jon, Marco and DBM, that a bunch of the pre-sets in the X2 had a gate on them, and that using FUSE to turn it off made all those models sound better.  One guy said he wasn't that impressed with his til he discovered that, then LOVED it after he turned the gate off.  Others chimed in later that after reading his post they did the same and loved the results.

Thanks!  :)

A bit of both! The amps's fx knob was on the rev+dly position (very low settings) an then I've added a bit of delay in GarageBand.

Ciao,
Marco

I love it too, DTR!

Also in the X2 the Champ model is in position n.1.

Followed Jon's advice, I've changed the default cab model to the 2x12 and....WOW !  With the default cab it was very good,  now it is VERY GOOD !!!

I'm still in the honey moon with this little amp! Is it true also for you Jon ???  ;D

LOL!!!  That "reverb+delay" setting is the one I use most of the time, with the effects level set on about 3.  That and the Champ make a really nice sound together.
Judging from the video you posted where the guy runs through the channels, Marco, I think that channel 13 sounds amazing. Almost enough to make me want to buy this amp too...

On the old XD, I use channel 2 and 3 all the time, and sometimes 8.  All pretty stellar.  1 and 3 are the channels that sold me on the amp--especially 3 at very low gain--but now I find channel 1 just a little too compressed.  I'm sure you can alter compression on the X2 with Fuse... which would make everything more usable.

I'm not sure Marco. I've been so busy since the thing arrived that I really haven't had a chance to play with it.   I sort of started my honeymoon and then went awol for a while so I will resume the honeymoon sometime next week  ;D

Channel 13 is the Super Sonic model, that model and the Fuze software made me pull the trigger on the X2. I knew clean channel would be good but I feared for the overdrives. Channel 13 made the decision for me.
I just watched the demo.  Doesn't seem to be nearly the difference in channels that my Vibro XD has, AT LEAST FROM THE DEMO.  Changing channels on mine are BIG changes in tone and gain.  Could just be the room micing used though...
If I can get outta channel 13 what that guy did that is the tone I want for overdrives. If that happens, it stays...
