so a post for one...feel free to join in though...drum sounds...love it...

I haven't moved past Cubase at all...I did the "ear test" in Cubase 5...

we can get into the specifics uno momento...

here's what my "mix" looked like in Cubase..

now first question...

how to send the MIDI to different VST's...

you do that in the "Drum Map" setup...this has changed in more recent versions...

so I need you to show me what it looks like in your version...but change it from "No Drum Map" to "GM Map" and show me that screen...

Man, I could never get to that level on Cubase!  >:( ;D

cgtrox  8-)

Oh man, major help this will be, been struggling with it for days!! Off to work but anxious to get home and fire it all up and see where I'm getting lost now! Thanks! (=

edit: K, here's the grab of that point..

Thanks again. This all came to be because everyone and his brother insists to get the best of both worlds with EZ, you need to open "two instances" of it, using pieces from two different kits - was no problem, can do that, sample/audition/edit individual pieces from both kits, etc, but come playback time, I'm missing something in the setup, will only allow one kit or the other, heh. I googled like mad to find the solution (like a 'config walk through' for this particular setup), gave up.
yup...

now figure out which notes are you snare and see where it says default...change that to the second VST and the MIDI will go there instead...

OK man, just wanted to thank ya again for this help - that last tip was the final piece I was missing. Got it all working right, two different kits pieced and playing together as need be, mixer flow, plugin insert points, etc, all understood now. Embarrassing to have asked, but shit, I hated knowing how good EZ drummer could sound (beyond stock) from the many samples...having all the tools but not the knowledge to get there was killing me.
