Just goofing around here, this sounded better in the room (prolly because I was hearing the Timmons track as well :)), but the learning curve with this amp is well under way, lol, and I'm making progress. I'm done with the Marshall 4x12, bought an Egnater 2x12, just liking the tighter, more focused 2x12 sound, can't quite get the Marshall to UN-WOOF with the new amp, the Eggy though, well....yum so far. Quick Rod & Sloppy 70's / down

The intro was out of tune but once you hit the distortion, it was rocking! Very nice, with great tone & playing.   :)
Get meds :)  sounds great.

confused about which amp you are playing.

lol, joey! haha

sounds great

*and more lol at auto j o e y filter.. hah
Sounds GREAT !! :)

Thanks for the listens! =)

Obviously I was bored outta my mind to take the extra few to add the j0ey bit, lol...but when I played it back I chuckled as well, figured I'd leave it.

Finga - its the new Splawn head (a Quick Rod) I bought a month or two back and instead of the 4x12 Marshall cab I had been using (mostly with the Marshall head) I decided to buy a 2x12 cab for the Splawn to run through...they're working much better together so far.

Derek, rockin' sound.  That Splawn sounds pretty righteous!!
very nice Schilsy...

whatcha recordin' with these days..software-wise...

Thanks Rocket!

Using the only one I halfway know and have fully loaded and running smooth, Cubase SX3.xx

cool...heh... ;)

have you tried doubling that bad boy and panning the tracks hard left and right...that would be a killer sound...

little multiband to keep it from humpin...tasty

where is the verb coming from...the amp or software..??..

Nah, was just goofing around, still getting familiar with the amp, cab and mic, these are just the very first few tests and what not. The small room verb is from the Lexicon I have in the loop, only use one or two sounds from it. Since this sample seems to be getting positive feedback I'll prolly make a better, more serious sample next!

yeah...sexy that clip up...

let's hear it...heh
Back that mic up a few inches... we were running some blind tests in the studio a while back and found that 4-6 inches back all mics we used sounded remarkably better than they did right up on the cabinet.

Alrighty, backed it out some, its about 4 1/2 inches away from the cloth...will try again later, maybe, dunno, pretty uncomfortable in my house right now, hard to relax and play, somethings up with the AC unit, waiting on a buddy to come check it out, pfft.

Well, FWIW, rush job, not a fair comparison with the first take, used a much tighter, smaller verb sound, wanted to basically only hear the dry as dirt basics. Mic is a good 4 1/2" out though, double tracked as well, never been great at that, not sure which way sounds better, eh, but one thing I do know, I LOVE this amp, lol, sooo fun to play.

Sloppy 70's take 2 / down
Yeah, not sure which I prefer, would like to hear the first one doubled and the second one singled to really compare...

But the second one is lacking one very important thing...

"Joey, time for your meds!"  ;D

That amp sounds awesome...  I bet it feels great to play it.
The dirt on the second one is ridiculous.  Sounds awesome.

Thanks, I do think I'll try again later today for the fun of it, I'll leave the mic where it is, single track, use the same verb/delay preset as the first and most importantly, play it more evenly like the first take (second one sounds like ass, its an odd riff to hear without drums).

Great tone, I liked it.
