The one thing that strikes me about this clip is Walter's sound at what a appears to be an extremely low volume.
I wonder how he manages it.
Looks like he is using a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe or Deville to me. I have one, and I can get that sort of tone with tube distortion stomps, however there is this guy in North Carolina which will modify HRD amps to sound like that with just channel switching for $275. I just use the clean channel on my HRD with stomps.
However I have high gain gold pinned JJ tubes in the preamp and the hottest 6L6 JJ tubes in the power amp, I have the BIAS set at 82Ma (I think Ma) It will go up as high as 90 plus with the hot power tubes. A stock HRD sounds like crap in comparison. I also have a Eminence Tonespotter speaker with a Weber beam blocker in front of the speaker.
With channel switching, I can almost get that tone but the tube distortion stomps have extensive tone control options so that gives me a second set of tonal options in the distortions.
He may have been playing louder than you think, the mike sounds far away from the speaker, or miked up from the rear of the amp, sounds like that to me.
He definitely IS playing louder - a lot louder. Here's the page I made a long time ago when I was talking with him:

Omega Amps http://www.omegaamps.com/mods2.html Does the mods on a HRD which I think he was using on the video up top of this thread.
