Just testing out mixing rhythm guitars in a track and I stumble on something that I had always struggled with when doubling up the rhythm guitar. The 2nd rhythm guitar never seemed to lock with the first...and it seems that's because I was always listening to the first take when recording the 2nd. Now if I record the 2nd rhythm guitar with the first one muted, when I then play them both back they sync much better...still not perfect, but much better. Same process with the bass guitar too.
I probably over-did the bass eq a bit as usual ::)

No way one could achieve that tone at home even with a several thousand bucks boutique amp. So it seems HD500 is the deal if you are into recording. Dunno if it would be as satisfying as a real tube amp while playing live but for recording, it is simply flawless to my ears.

Zonta, the dynamics of this thing are really very good. Still not 100% as good as the organic feel of a tube amp, BUT it does come very close. I wouldn't mind betting that line6 reverse engineered an AXE FX to see how they did it. I have had an axeFX and the feel of the HD500 is very similar to that. I think that through a good FET power amp and into a real 4x12 guitar cab this would be a very good rig live...and hopefully I will be trying it that way very soon.

I am so tempted to get the HD bean for recording. If my surgery turns out to be a success I may get one just to renew my interest in recording guitar. I still have 5 weeks to find out how well the surgery went (they still have a stent in me)(A stent is a tube that runs from the kidney to the bladder). After they pull that I find out how successful the process was.
