I bought my JVM head & a custom made 2 x 12 cab with a greenback and a v 30 in it....

I have a few more question re the hot plate.

Would you mind emailing me on milesandmax@hotmail.com or even giving me a quick call???

I can only order one in, so I can't try before I buy.....

Ta.
Happy to be of service! What questions have you got?
The other guys are gonna roll their eyes when they read all of this....... ::) ::)

What does it do exactly...  I mean; I know what they are are meant to do; but will it help fix my problem re tone.....

My head sounded great in the shop even at lower volulmes; but at home through my cab it has gone all sterile again.  It HAS to be part of the acoustics problems in the room I'm playing in because I had the same problems with the Hot Rod.  I'd get it to other places and it sounded fine.  Problem with that was that turned up I'd lose clarity and get 'grittiness' that was killing me...

But back to my current problem.....

A few people have said I don't need a attenuator; that's what the master volume is for.... Ie. we are no longer in the days of the 80's where Marshall amps had to be cranked to sound great.  But my set up; at bedroom levels; sounds fizzy; thin and as I said sterile.   But I'm not concerned (yet) as our first band camp is next Sunday; so I'm looking forward to playing it at the level it needs to be to get over the drums etc..

So anyway; what does it do.... and based on what I've written so far, maybe YOU are even going to roll ya eys and say "what the fuck sort of tone do you expext at bedroom levels from a 100 watt head?"  Remember all; I would have LOOOOVED to have bought the 50w version; but it's only 2 channels - not 4.

I'm assuming that I can simply push the head a lot harder to get rid of the 'fizziness' and really fatten the sound and tone up and get rid of the sterility - then obviously turn it all back down to a 'normal' level.  Having said that it's also been said that these things are sorta pointless because you've gotta run the speakers loud to move air to get the right tone...  Comments????

I'm also getting a bit of feedback and other general noise issues.  I'm running 500T's through my Les Paul (RIP) so it's all pretty hot....  I understand that these also work as a built in noise supressor.  (I've got a boss one being repaired under warranty - they've had it for 5 weeks now... bastids) how do you find this 'function' of it.....

The only other question I have is I've heard that you can put a lot of strain on your output transformer.  But I guess that's only because now you can run your amp at flat out all the time.  If you're still only going to run it at 50% you're not pushing it; right????? How hard and what sort of settings do yo use???  Ie. Master low; channel volumes high or the other way around???  1 -10???

In general dude; seeing as I've gotta go on your recommendation (and if it doesn't work out or suit me; I won't hold you to it...  I'll wack it straight on ebay and lose $200 in a failed experiment)  but how necessary do you find it????  Ie. How much do you swear by it????  Or am I going to keep having these problems caused by other issues.....

Thank again.  I want to get one ordered quickly if you give the nod; so I'm eagerly awaiting ya response....  Sorry this is long; but as much detail as you can give me would be appreciated.......  BTW  I'm running a 16 Ohm Cab too....

PS.  Have you heard from Cin????
