Yesterday evening I've been invited to an audition as main guitarist in a rock'n'roll band! Great at 58 YO!!  ;D
No one of the other members turned 40 and I've never met them before and I felt a bit like the grandfather of the situation, but everything is gone in the right direction....after the first 10 minutes of panic!! :D
We have played 8 songs from Zeppelin, AC/DC (the singer is really great),  Chuk Berry, Eagles (... where I was totally lost!! I've never played a single Eagles song..)

Anyway on june 3 will be the the judgment day and I'll know the response ... of the grandchildren!  ;D ;D
8-)

You rock!
That great Marco, well done and fingers crossed for you.
Thank you guys!
What’s the verdict Marco.....hired ?
I’ve heard you play, they’d be lucky to have you.
Good luck Marco you are a great player, that band will do well with you on guitar.

Buona fortuna Marco sei un grande giocatore, quella band andrà bene con te alla chitarra.
Hi guys, thank you for asking!
It went well...until I decided to stop... :)
The band was very good, nice guys and good sounds but they were too "hungry" to go out and play live. I like to play live, I like when the audience start to follow tempo or start to dance..that's really great but not for two or three evenings per week + 1 for the rehearsals +1 for searching for new dates... and they already have dates until january 2020 and it's simply crazy for me..

I play for fun and, again, I like to play live...but in these terms it's not playing for fun...it's a job and I already have one..

So, end of the adventure and to recover from disappointment I've purchased a new Boss Nextone amp! :D

Ciao!
Marco

I did the same thing back in the day Marco, I had my day job which paid a whole bunch more than working in the clubs so it went from trying to succeed in music to a beloved hobby just for fun. Good choice.

I fully get that. Main reason why I stopped playing “live”...just no time for anything else...all consuming. It’s great if it becomes your job and you have no family commitments, otherwise it’s too much. I just do the occasional live stuff now with players who feel the same way.

Clips of the new amp please :)

All good fun :)
Hi guys! Thank you and sorry for the delay... :)

Here the clips I've recorded using two Boss amps! I was so happy with the Boss Katana that I decided to sell the Fender Bassbreaker 15  and purchase also the Boss Nextone!
I like them both!!

Excellent tones Marco, and excellent playing you have the touch.

Ottimi toni Marco, ed eccellente suonando hai il tocco.
Man, Boss is killing it. Those sounds are so well-suited to your playing, it's ridiculous. Half a watt!
Sounds great Marco. I like the 2nd amp
more than the first but both sound fine.

I've just had my vox AC10 modded by having an effects loop installed between pre and power amp. To my surprise, using the HX stomp into the power amp of the vox (with no cab sim used of course) sounds absolutely brilliant. I will put some clips up soon...too damn hot at the moment....just sitting about in the garden ! The joys of working for yourself :)
I understand where your coming from. I hate the thought of lugging gear all over the place, and the hassle of set-ups. If I can jam with friends for  a couple of hours once a week, that’s enough for me...no pressure and lots of fun.
Your playing/touch  as usual is impeccable.
Thank you guys for listening to my takes (...you have great patience  :) )

Jon,  the HX used as a pre for a tube amp should be great! I'm waiting for your clips!!
I don't know if it can console you to know that here (it's around 10pm) there are more or less 32 degrees celsius , humidity of 70% and not a single wisper of wind.. I want back my winter, my fog, my frost ... :D

It was 34c here yesterday !

Clips soon
Heck it is 110*F+ (43.3333 C) just about every day here in the Arizona desert for 4 solid months a year, and usually 29.4444C here in the winters. But no matter how hot it gets we do not have to shovel any snow.......... ;D

Playing around with a Katana 50. After listening to Marco's recordings it seemed like a decent option for a second amp to use for jamming so I didn't have to move mics and tear down my "recording' setup.

I will be keeping my Bassbreaker  But the Katana... It's a ton o fun!

The modeler pick chirp is not overbearing. I thought it was a bit crispy on the high end but there is global and patch EQ. Pushing the preamp with an onboard "clean booster' and running the master higher than the channel volume really warms it up. I practice at .5 watts. Recorded clarity is better than any other solid state amp I have played with.

I would not have liked it much without access to the editing software.

Grain of salt review - still getting the feel of it. Spent more time playing than dicking around with settings. ++ price/versatility/value.

No fx loop or line out and only 2 banks / 2 channels on the 50.
:) I still like the Katana 50! I like a lot to play with it and honestly (at the moment...) I don't miss any of tube amps I've had...ok.. maybe the deluxe reverb...
It has good sounds, good dynamic and a clever power section.

About the global EQ.. same story here! :) When I've played it at the shop with the strat there were a lot of highs and no presence control, but I was confident in the global EQ ( I've downloaded the Editor and manuals before the purchase)  :)

Glad you like it Tobe.
