I was testing the demo version of pro-tools today and my son said "how about we do some warh warh metal type stuff".

So, we did.  Both Oliver and I on cookie vocals
I'm playing bass and guitar
EZ drummer on drums

Oliver was laughing so much he nearly peed himself.

As the demo version of pro tools can't save or export/render, I hooked up cool edit pro to record the audio output from protools instead.

Apart from this test being a complete joke of course, that aside, the sound quality of pro tools really is excellent and the built-in tools such as the compressor (which I used to compress the shit out of this) work really well.

I wish I had tried Pro tools sooner.

Can't wait for the full version to arrive (should be tomorrow)

It's a hit.  Where's the video?? :D  Sounds like you guys were having fun.  Sounds good.
Easily as good as anything else I've heard with cookie vox.  But I can tell you're new at it, the lyrics are still too understandable and you need more phlegm coming up.  ;)
The funny thing is that it's got better production than anything else in the genre.  IEG wishes teh shit he listened to sounded that good. :o
Classic.  I can just SEE you two doing this and Oli laughing his butt off the whole time!  Ah, the things we do to be a "cool dad."  LOL

Now, where's the speed metal soloing?  Gotta get that in there.   ;D

Funny you should say that. I was thinking (after we recorded this) how fucking marvellous it is being a Dad. It really is the best just messing around like this. It's worth every embarrassment on my part just to see the smile on his face....pure gold.

You could be right. We did stray somewhat from the lyric sheet with our improvisational technique

Wait till you get the real version, and can export, my friend has the Pro Tools HD setup with an Apogee interface, and gawd the clarity is stellar. My Sonar Layla rig is as good as that example you posted above, and about half as good as my buds Pro Tools HD rig.

Oh my, if I only had the interest in recording I once had, I would get me a nice HD rig meeself.
