not a finished tune (mix is meh, drums need variety, etc etc) but it's kinda fun to listen to (imo!)

mainly just feels good to be doing this crap again ;) :)

COOL! I could see you breaking out a wah for some nasty riffing over the verse sections.  :)
thanks!
Nice, nice, NICE !!  :)
Welcome back, sometimes those playing hiatuses are worthwhile.
thanks and thanks! I can't function without a creative outlet for too long, I start going sane. ;)
Nice work, the production is going well.
re-recorded everything, added weird intro, drums, temp lead take, remix

to do: different lead, some fills on the riff maybe, brighten up the riff guitars a bit, fix ebow :( (acting up ebow is the source of the intro ;))

The intro would sell big time for a science fiction movie. You ought to go into post production stuff for TV and movies. (of course there are plenty of those guys for only a few opportunities).

The guitar leads are excellent. The production is excellent. The arrangement is cool. I think it is a winner.
thanks!

I doubt I could do this as "work" even if that were a possibility. As it is, I can barely stand working for myself!  ;D

last mix of this for a while. some of it's better, some not (riff guitars sound honky(ier?) to me), and some stuff just got lost in the sea of mids but there should be a new pedal in the mailbox today or tomorrow... time to set this aside.

main lesson learned from this one... verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge+solo*/chorus/chorus! heh. oh, and parallel compression sounds cool.

* I kinda like this track better with a shorter bridge and no solo... but so it goes.

Sounds great to me!
IMHO there are only 5 seconds ( from 2:55 to 3:00 ) where there are... too much guitars. ;)

Wonderful job!

yeah, it got to be too much in the last chorus - there's 8 guitars in there! lol.

I'm wanting more kick on the last mix now.... argh. oh well, I need to do a better lead anyways - guess I'm not done with this yet ;)

edit: ah, I just checked the part you mentioned (rather than assuming the outro chorus)... yes! that's got to change. I had an automation on it in the other mix but deleted it for this one... need to figure out a better way to deal with the transition. good call! thanks!
And a good one. Can't sit still to a decent groove.  8-)
