My mixes have always been bass heavy in the past, mostly because of the way I played back when mixing, not listening to other tracks to compare first.

So, I've tried listening to a "real" track and then a/b with my mix and adjusting the mix/bass until they sound similar.

Does this work as a mix, have I got the right balance in the EQ with the bass etc. I've tried to mix this as flat as I can so that it then plays back alongside "real" tracks.

What do you think?

Sounds good to me on my M-Audio $149 monitors.
Sounds pretty darned professional to me Jon!  :)  I need someone like you to try & make me sound good!!
sounds good to me - needs rhythm on left channel ;) :)
Hooray, at last I seem to have cracked this mixing milarky to get my tracks to fit with "real" songs in a playlist.  I've been agonising over the bass content in my tracks for years and then over compensating. Without doubt (for me) the only way to mix is by regularly comparing my own tracks with "real" tracks to get them to sit alongside the "real" tracks in a playlist.  Now, all I've got to do is record something worth listening to  ;D

What?  Haven't you heard most of the music out there?  Obviously being something worth listening to isn't a requirement!  ;D
