what do you think of this tone.
(strings really need changing badly as they have completely lost their zing...will do this later....maybe :-) )
sounds like a mic'd up amp. bit too much reverb for me though. what cab impulses are you using? factory?
oops, I should have said, this is not the AxeFX.
You will be amazed (or maybe not....I don't know)
I played the guitar into the Axe FX with a nice "just breaking up sound".
However, I added an effects loop before the amp so I could record the
completely clean guitar sound into protools. So the axe fx is doing nothing
except giving me the straight DI guitar sound, although of course it did give
me a very nice dynamic wet monitoring playing experience.
I then ran the DI recorded track to 3 other tracks. Each of the 3 tracks
had softubes "vintage amp room" RTAS on it. I then used a different
virtual amp on each track, the marshall, the blackface and the AC30
and then mixed them black face 70% left, marshall centre and AC30
80% right and then added some reverb.
The resultant sound is a big fat glorious tone.
Ahh.. I was wondering which amps you were using... didn't sound like the C30 or Lanilei... nice sound. Too wet for me as well, but I wouldn't think it was a modeler if you didn't tell me.
