Got this girl in this weekend. Short session, rough mix, but looking forward to doing more with her. Really young kid, just turned 18, I was surprised at her level of talent and her songwriting. I think this is a cover but her originals are really cool. We started to get her recording chain perfected only towards the end of the session--she only recorded six takes total, of 5 songs. We'll do a couple more sessions and get her used to the studio--doing multiple takes, not friggin moving around or clearing her throat at the end of a take, etc. But as far as raw talent, she may be the best that's come through--all upside from here.
