Making Music

I was contacted by a band looking for a guitarist. They are putting together an all 80's rock/dance band. Funny....80's stuff is a HUGE hit here, so I thought I'd give it a listen.
Come to find out, it is sort of an 'All-Star' band made up of solid musicians from several other of the more successful bands here. They heard my band broke up recently and pounced, for lack of a better term. And I will happily admit that I am the least talented person in the band. This is a strong lineup.

Anyhoo...it looks to be a fun gig with some serious musicians. I'll sound back as things progress. Here's a youtube page from Jim, our synth dude:

The others are in par...just never posted youtube vids of themselves ;)

This is gonna be fun :)

Rock the house, Johnny!  Hope you have fun, man!
Cool man, represent us well!
good luck with it. Rock 'em good
Good luck, bro! Have fun with it!

Had our first practice today. 15 tunes. Some songs we had down first run through, most we had by the second, and a few took 3 times. I have never had 15 songs come together so fast.  Nice to work with folks who do thier homework ;)

First...Mitsy our singer can just belt. Holy shit. Gloria was freakin awesome. Second...Jim the synth player is insane. Listen to all of the stuff going on in the song Rio. He nails it....plus plays the sax solo (he has a sax patch that is badass).  Third...our bassist can actually play the bass licks in Rio. Solid stuff.

This is gonna be a solid band.....as long as nobody flakes out....
Cool man.  I hope you guys have a long run.
I've never really listened closely to Rio until last week. There's a LOT of stuff going on musically. The guitar parts are by far the easiest.
To come into a band that nails everything else going on.....holy schniekies. I'm gonna have to pick my game up a bit!
better come to Bertapalooza and practice!   ;)
