This is something I started with a friend online. It's from the game Romancing Saga. The original is this very slow and soft piece with piano and strings. We liked the melody and decided to rock the hell out of it. No lead instruments/guitars yet. Trying to figure out what would sound best as the lead; synth or guitar.

Updated with lead guitars!
Top Notch, I think. Very well put together. That's a keeper for me. That'll get some plays on the MP3 player while I'm truckin' around. Very nice job. Sounds excellent.
WOW SM !!
Excellent !!!
Ciao !
Marco
This fucking rocks !
Great job Mex!
I've redone and rerecorded this mix a few times and I think I'm finally getting closer. ;D Enjoy!

I wish Metallica had an instrumental like this on their new album!
Seriously, that ROCKS like hell dude!!!!!
I fucking LOVE the synth lead at 2.34 - 2.57!!! Holy SHIT! Keep listening to that over and over again.
Did you play that in real time?
If it were up to me, I'd keep the guitars for rhythm on this track and get more synth leads and melodies on this. You know, give it more of a retro-ATARI/AMIGA-gaming kind of feel...
The beginning is perfect btw. on both mixes.
Love how the guitar enters.
The "6" mix has this retro-gaming vibe after the guitar enters that I was talking about. Great stuff!
You have more?
My favorite part is around the 1:40 mark. Great stuff! :)

Mostly, though there was quite a bit of quantizing. You can hear more of my tunes at my site.

Glad you guys enjoyed it. 8-)
Brilliant stuff. I enjoyed that.
I just visited your website and had a listen.
Really professional sounding recordings and excellent all round playing.
Are you making any money from your efforts? because you should be!
Btw, SoMex, what do you use for your great synth sounds? You know, those retro-gaming sounds?
Love your stuff!!
For the old school 8-bit sounds I use ReFX QuadraSID. Only $70 and it can produce some awesome classic game sounds. My other synths are IK's Samplemoog, NI's Pro53, FM8, and B4II, Spectrasonics Atmosphere, ReFX Nexus and u-he Zebra 2. And speaking of Spectrasonics, their new flagship synth, Omnisphere, is almost out. It's pretty pricet, but for those of us who bought Trilogy, Stylus RMX, AND Atmosphere there's going to be a ridiculous upgrade price. From what I hear, something around $129. I can't wait!
I have always dug your stuff musically
cool as hell.
always wanted you to step a few notches away from the slam on the mix though - but that is my ears .... :)
I was looking for Bloody Tear s- you posted it a while back at the WH to let everyone have at it.
I didn't post this snippet at the time - nobody did - but I had a go.
you might find it amusing :)
Wow, fingers. That wasn't bad at all. Great tone, too. What are you plugging into?
I just checked - looks like it was the XT.
Funny thing I had kinda forgot about doing it.
But checking your music out the other night and listening to the bloody tears track again,
btw - I see you haven't got round to putting any solo guitar on the track - are you planning to ?
Yeah, I plan on finishing that track pretty soon. Changed a few sections around and added a little more original content. Should turn out pretty good. I'll post it here as soon as I finish it. 8-)
Don't loose the synth lead! 8-)
