Hey All,
Check out Guitar Interactive Magazine. From what I've browsed through so far, looks pretty good and best of all is free.

Oh and Lance, Gilmour is on the cover! ;)

Brilliant concept - mag & vid clips all in one! I've only glanced through but will read when I get home. I like the inbuilt 'lick' lessons!
Rich :)
Guthrie Govan stuff was worth the price of admission. Good find!! Thanks!
Did it help you play the rest of Waves Matt? ;) :D
That's very good actually !
It is very good - watched the GG interview vids

Yeah, I never heard of him before but I am definately checking him out!
The whole concept of the online magazine is something I've been waiting for since I first got a Freenet account back in the early 90's. I've seen early attempts at webzine's but I think this is the first time something has lived up to my expectation. It helps that internet speed has gotten to the point where a fully multimedia webzine is practical. The contents of Interactive Guitar seems to be able to match the experience.
Cheers,

Watch him play the song "Waves" that I mentioned above (link below). Matt played the intro a while back - hence my comment. If he really loves every note like he says, then he must have a LOT of love 'cause he can play a zillion notes!!! ;)

Great stuff,
The vid that makes me go back time time is this rotosound demo one (had to track it down again - not that organized :) )

It's great ... but the last 5 secs of the jam - wtf is going on there.
He really is a master of making controlled musical sounds out of a guitar.
truly amazing player. but that last little bit is actually very simple - pullofs with the left hand while touching the string with your right hand/finger whatever - causes harmonics to ring out depending on where your hands are. Experiment with it, it's a lot of fun :)
oh and thanks for the links jayson, craig, and fingers...
Welcome back Paul! I take it you've been busy working on CD #2, right? ;)
:D
hmmm, I replied last week and come back and my post is gone....
Anyway, thanks Jayson! This is really cool. I subscribed so I'll get notified when a new issue comes out. This one was great!
Guthrie got some skills!
What an amazing interview with Govan... they really seem to have nailed the possibilities with the format for this mag... except for those annoying arrows blinking in the corners of the page.
I agree with the "possibilities" comment. I think the whole format and implementation are excellent! The links to Lick Library are cool. Live ads can be cool. I bet live product demo "reviews" are in the works, and that would be VERY cool.
The wave of the future???
GP is like $18 per year if you subscribe, but $6.99 per issue on the news stand. This one will probably soon be profitable with ad revenue since they don't have to print, distribute, etc.
So far, this is a pretty slick publication.
