I'm thinking of getting a fender blues junior next, they seem to break up really nicely

I have been thinking of getting one of those myself. So far it is the one I like the best in the 15-20 watt range.

If you do some research on the net, you'll find the overwhelming preference for the Pro Junior over the Blues Junior.  They say the tone is much better.  YMMV

the C30 sounds really great ! Is it stock ? I remember my delta blues and the classic 50 a little more darker than your C30...


Talking about a 15Watt.. Have you tried the Vox NightTrain ?
I've sold the Blackstar HT-40 for this little puppy (with its dedicated 1x12 cab with a Celestion GreenBack) and I'm finally HAPPY ! :)

I had a Pro Junior for a few weeks it was noisy, even at rest with the volume low. The tone was just OK. The Blues Jr is a little brighter, but it is crisp. Probably needs a speaker change and new tubes immediately. Bobbo of Eurotubes says that the Blues Jr is less noisy. The Blues Jr also has a full tone stack, reverb, and a master volume control. The Pro Jr has one tone one volume, no reverb, and it is freakin noisy. I had one and sent it back.

Hi Marco,

The C30 is stock, no changes and really shines on the clean channel, but to get some grit into the sound you really have to crank it, so without a hotplate or other load attenuator you probably wouldn't get the same sound as it would just be too loud. Also, the amp does brighten up the more it is cranked.

I really like the demos that I have heard of the Fender Blues Junior, so I will be getting one of those soon (work issues permitting....not looking good at present, business very slow)

My nephew has a Vox Night-train. It seems to be far too bright to me, or at least it is with a strat or tele, but he is currently experimenting with different cabs to get the right combination.  He plays "live" with it every week, but the brightness is overpowering the rest of the band.
