Well maybe I'm just a plain Jane on this one but THAT type of stuff never really appealed to me. There was this piano guy that I once knew of that jammed metal objects into his piano and then would draw random notes out of a hat. That's how he wrote his music....randomly....and then played it on his heavily modified piano. One of my jazz buddies thought it was divine. I of course hated it.
But it all can't be vanilla can it? :D

I actually kind of thought it was clever, too. I don't know how you'd use it, but it was neat.

Well for one, you could take samples of the different tones he got, and create a fx percussion set with it, would work exceptional well for industrial percussion, or dark trance. You could also possibly create some neat foley fx for film using the methods he used.
What I like about it is rawness of it, granted he could have had better timing. However, I think one could create a pretty cool percussion loop incorporating what he was doing along with some other samples.
Was it brilliant and world changing, no... but I have heard alot worse musicality than him.
