The Watering Hole

I've been dicking around with using the helix as the audio interface to take advantage of it's re-amping facility.

So for the following noodle I recording the DI direct over usb from the helix whilst playing with a very dynamically responsive amp patch and then reamped it completely in the box using metal amp room and pristine space for the room.

Next thing to try will be to re-amp the di out of one of the sends from the Helix into my Vox AC10C! (excellent amp by the way, I love it).

Anyway, the DI via the helix is very clean without hardly any hiss at all which is what I've been after for some time now.

Hey Jon.  I dig the playing. I'm a Zep fan so I can hang in there.  I think the Helix stuff sounds excellent.  I listened with my AKG 240 headphones.

I thought the video was great too.  Mom out shopping?  LOL.  Great sounds.  Does Oliver use some third party samples for the e-kit, or are those from Roland?  I had an e kit for a while several years ago.  The Roland onboard sounds weren't the greatest.  I'm sure the technology has leaped now, though.

I also looked at your Freqout video.  Pretty cool.  I was curious about that thing.  I had entered a giveaway from Prymaxe for one.  Didn't win.  Sounds like it does the trick.

Nice to hear from ya !     Actually we can make as much noise as we like any time as Rhonda doesn't mind at all and sometimes even joins in !  Sheer Bliss  :)

The sounds of the Roland kit are the default built-in sounds.  They don't sound very good direct to headphones or into a recording system, but they sound great if you just plug them into a powered monitor or pa and then just use room mics to pick up the sound in the room which is how I recorded this.  Just used stereo IQ5 mic plugged into iphone6s, works a treat !

We cranked both the drums and the amp pretty loud hence Oliver wearing headphones to cut down the noise and I was wearing in-ear sound reducers (which work great, same sound fidelity just much quieter to proect the ears) that's what the string dangling round my neck is connected to.

The Freqout is a really great pedal when combined with a dirty amp, sounds very authentic. Oliver bought it for my birthday beginning of this month which is a nice result  ;D
