The Watering Hole

Making Music

About 6 months ago I had this fad of  jamming up riffs against the same  drum groove and then recording double tracked riffs   in  4/8 bars bits.
It didn't last long but I ended up with loads of "bits".
I assembled  this cut n paste mix of some of the bits that kinda worked together as a medley and then forgot about it.

I happened to open the project again tonight while looking for something else.
I thought it contains some decent sounding riffage so mixed it down.

Drum track with dry dbl tracked guitars medley style - using  the XT which I haven't touched in months

Some interesting ideas in there!  :)

(Might want to work on that pick slide though...  ;) )
I think that pick slide was intended to be ironic as a bit of nonsense joining  riffs

I can do  decent pick slide when I need to -

here is  me with Presidential candidate Paris Stilton providing  a huge pick slide :)

i like it! even the pick slide.
Pretty neat, I liked it, interesting stuff.
I particularly like the last riff (the one just before the ending).  That could develop into a complete song.
thanks for listening.

The original intention was to make songs out them - but never happened.
I can't remember how to play half these riffs now, so I would have to work it out again
and work something  together properly  and play it as a whole song (rather than cut n paste)
Wow !! Good riffs, Finga !!
It's not simple to develope them as a whole new song, but I'm sure you can do it... It's a good starting point and you have completed the 51% of the travel !

Ciao!
Marco
thanks Marco for the gee up - I'll try and give it a go.

I've always found it hard to go back to things musically which means I seldom complete anything unless it is done and dusted in the time and place it was created.
It has caused grief with musicians I have worked with in the past as I am always racing on to the next fix of new stuff rather than finishing what I have started.

Have a lot of half finished business lying around

Need to motivate myself to do something about it.
Fing,

I really liked the first one.  As always, good to hear your playing.

The last one... well, when Noel gets in a GROVE, it's all good.  That was really cool!  Don't care what anyone says about the slide, you were ON on this one!  Thanks for sharing!
