Mixed in headphones again, so no idea if this sounds good or bad :)
Just a bit of twiddling to keep my hand in....so to speak ;D
I think it sounds good, Jon. I dig the playing. I can hear everything. Vocals are a little low. ;D You on the Bass?

Thanks for the listen. Yep, me on bass. I used to use a full scale bass but couldn't get on with the big stretch so I recently bought a Squire short scale bass and that makes everything a lot easier as it's almost just like playing a guitar, no big stretches.
The guitar on this was metal amp room vst.....it sounds very brittle, so I just tried some reamping tests

Might test this into Supro amp later and mic up the cabinet, couldn't be assed today :)
Hey Jon. Finally got around to listening to all of these to compare. I had a busy weekend flying everyday, so I got fuck all else done.
I personally prefer the second of the four. It seems to have a little more raised mids which I think enhance the guitars to my liking. The third to me seems to have more drive, which is OK but I like the cleaner versions. The last seems to roomy for me. All perfectly OK, but I like the cleaner sounding takes.
I listened to these in the shop on my computer speakers. I listen to most music through these. They are cheapo but do the job. Certainly not reference monitors, though.
the last 20 seconds... man, keep going with that, I was totally into it.
Thanks DM. Yep, I do prefer the cleaner tone myself, just messing about tweaking knobs whilst reamping to see what happens.
Sheep: Yeah, the last bit did sort morph into a tune which was not really intentional as I was just tone tweaking. I might have a go and develop that into something. Remove the first bit, add a main theme and then make the last 20 seconds a sort of chorus with a bit extra added....or maybe just fuck-it and leave it as it is ;D all depends on availability of time !
thanks for the listen
by way of suggestion... start without the lead - just bass/rhythm guitars with lower velocity drums (particularly cymbals)... bring the lead in with the stuff that starts around :54... then the last part... then back to another lead part... repeat till you get sick of playing lead parts ;)

Yep, will give that a go and see what happens. Also I will ditch the drum track and get my son to play "live" drums on it to add some variety.
