Here is a little test I just did miking up the X2 with the Lil Buddy speaker. The EQ 's were set as follows Mids on 5, Trebs on 3 and bass on three. Obviously the mix is primitive, there is no editing or effects on the guitar track except a little Waves IR 1 Verb on the Rhyman setting. I played the first half with the clean channel, and the second half with the modeling channel, unfortunately I don't know which model I was using because when I carried the X2 out to the shed (or back in the house) I moved the model selector, but all in all not too bad a tone for raw in, no effects or EQ'ing. SM57 pointed somewhere near the rim of the speaker. (I was just messing around to see what kind of recorded tone I could get so I was not very precise).

I used the Ibanez RG 321 stock pups, on the clean I was between the pups (half of the front and half of the rear) and on the overdrives I was on the rear pup full up.

Wow, pretty impressive!
Thanks Charger, I am pleasantly surprised at how the thing miked up. It was almost going to be sold to my one guitar student, but now it is my go to recording medium at the very least.
That sounds good!  Wish you know which sim you used for the lead tones.  Very tasty!
It's a good day for XD amps.  I just scored this on the fleabay.   Was intended for another cab, but.... I'll try it in the Vibro XD and if it improves the amp it's staying.

I think it was the Super Sonic, can't be absolutely sure, but I remember hitting the knobs with my arms on the way back into the house after the recording, but not on the way out to the shed 'er I mean studio.

By the way good luck with the new speaker, I hope it works out for you.
