so, trying some different things - not overdriving the amp, bass up... etc.

random jam (will likely rework the ideas into something.. but that's for later) - I think the guitars sound somewhat better than usual (maybe not the fuzz... dunno about that yet, needs work).

anyways, this is the current state of the amp/cab/mic... tone opinions? guitars sound better/worse than usual? can't really hear over the stupid drum loop?? ;)

(strat/flexi/2x12 t75s/sure condenser - '70 fuzz in second half)

Sweet tones. Soulful riff. Nice vibe. Great playing.

Sorry, no complaints.  :)
heh thanks

that drum loop is driving me crazy. makes it hard to hear the rest.

probably should have saved the guitar tracks :\

I honestly didn't even pay the drums any mind, was enjoying the guitars
Sweet as Sheep  8-).

I loved the way you kicked the fuzz in yet you could still hear that underlying basic tone from the first half.

Good work man.
It blows my mind that you don't yet have an album out.

+1!

Heh, I still occasionally listen to the 40 minute wank-session he sent me of da sheepster soloing over an annoying drum loop! ::)

This last song has a lot more feel than some of your stuff - love it!  :)
Wow, that's really tasty sheep!  Wait, that doesn't sound right, unless I'm Craig...

;D

All kidding aside, that's some soulful, tasty playing, and the tones are top notch.  I agree with Derek, I didn't even notice the drums...
I like it, nice tones.Excellent playing and (in my humble opinion) bag the fuzz and use a good overdrive pedal instead.

IMHO, the fuzz that Sheep used sounded as smooth as some good OD's do. Plus, it's good to hear a good fuzz being used instead of the usual TS clone/OCD. Nice change. Like I said, JMHO, nothing more, nothing less  ;).

I don't use TS and Clones nor do I use OCD's I use tube distortion devices. Besides it is my personal taste as I said above, I did not like the sound of the fuzz, no biggie, I do not buy CD's so my opinion don't count in the marketplace.

Some really nice tone there.
thanks for the comments guys

dbm - I agree on the fuzz mostly. I've been trying to figure out how to use the thing for years now - occasionally it makes a sound that prevents me from selling it... heh. I sound better without OD or anything in front of the amp I think - but it requires me to play well and that kinda sucks ;) :)

I think that goes for just about everyone here Sheep :( ;).
That sounded awesome dude,
I would buy one of your cd's.  I have liked your playing for some time.
Great sound,tastful- Rock on Bro

You played well enough to impress me on that clip. It is all in the execution and you executed very well. These days I am not at all into sterling technique as much as feel, and you got that feel down real good amigo, at least on that clip.
I agree.  I have heard you rip the shit out of the guitar, but tracks like this show a whole other side.  Everything from the chord progression to the way it's played between the two guitars, the atmosphere of the backing, and the very restrained and tasteful lead work.  I would listen to this as much as I listen to many of my favorite albums.
very nice - feelness.

I like your "old" guitar sounds as well - this is a tad brighter and present maybe, but working from memory as I lost a whole lot of past clips here in a computer failure.

The clip I would like to compare it with is the old brbrjam - called something like that - as I thought that was the epitome of tonefullness at the time I heard it.

but it is marginal and that was  different tone  -  this sounds great.

That would be JGPRjam I believe.  From a BT that Jon put up of Prince's Purple Rain. :)
No - I know exactly which jam I mean.

It was Plan B by Beck'ish - and it was by sheep - he did a take2 on it -  I think I asked him to do a take 2 at the time, some years back.
Wow... There's a sheep jam out there that I don't have??!  :-?

Hehe... I've got almost 200 of his jams and videos (but no CD - yet! ;) ).
do a search for *br*jam
fingers — Feb 20, 2009do a search for *br*jam

Um, ok... And where am I supposed to do this search?  :-?

I first thought you meant here, in these forums, but only your post shows up.  I can't search at the Hole any more.  I had already searched my local files.

No luck!  :-/
I meant on your drive - you said you have 200 jams,
do you mean the original one with rhodes pad or the one I tried to play through as a jam?

also, did some more work on this idea. no lead on this one yet - but it has drums. well, at least it's not a loop ;)

🎵 224.mp3
The original one - thought the retake was good as well
I think most of the "interesting" factor on that was from delay and pitch modifying in Reason. had a nice vibe to it.

one of the rare occasions that I actually arranged something... so noteworthy for that alone! ;)
Do you still have the jam  - it is years since I heard it and I want to see if my memory of it matches ?
yep

Thanks

Yep - it lives up to memory.

very reminiscent of Plan B
