I love this just break up sort of sound with the Tele.

One take guitar and bass and then tweaked drums a bit here and there.

edit: replaced with final mix.

cool theme - I like it! zep influence is clear but still, it's different - good stuff.

two things though... the drums could really use some velocity adjustments. much less at the start, building to like they are throughout the track now, later on. the drums really own the mix early, can't hear the guitar very well. comes together later. second, needs some glue between the guitar's reverb and the drums -- like send some (or send more if already sent) of the drums to the guitar's reverb or something. I like the sound of that tele with the reverb though, so, not a complaint about that... but as it is, it sounds like I'm in the room with the drummer and bass player and you're in a large room next door! heh. just my $.02
LOL, yep, I should take more time to glue it all together.  The drums are a bit of a problem. I used Addictive Drums on this and they are great for pounding away at full whack but not so good on the soft stuff.   I will have a tweak of the velocities at the beginning section and see what happens.

Always appreciate feedback.
OK, here's another mix.   I've lowered the velocity of the snare at the beginning of the track and added some send to the room from the drums (and a tiny tiny bit of room on the bass)  Think I might have accidentally pushed the guitar more up front....not too sure as I'm mixing with headphones.  Also changed the last couple of notes of the drums and bass to give a better ending.

Any better....or worse ?

huh, thought I replied but it didn't appear... if anyone got a private message or something... or if my response is in another thread... lol, sorry!

anyways, yeah, that a lot better! very nice.

but... I have to ask now, what's going to go on the left side? or, is the theme "Eileen"? ;)

When just having one guitar I don't like the guitar up the middle, I like it to be either 3/4 left of 3/4 right with the room across both left and right.   Just the way I like it  to give everything else some space :)

Thanks for the input.  Always good to get an outside opinion.  Thanks.
There's a velocity filter in Addictive Drums that is extremely useful... basically one slider that controls the minimum and maximum velocity of a beat.  Very useful, as it applies automatically to any beat you drag out of AD into your sequencer.
Is that guitar mic'ed?

No, this is using an IR, which is probably why it's a bit sharp on the top end.  I will run the hotplate recording back out to an amp and speaker in a day or two and mic it to see what that does.

I will have a look at that, didn't realise that.  No wonder I couldn't get a good dynamic range from it from the Roland kit using A.D., everything just seems to be full on. Will have a play with that over the next couple of days.
