I've seen more than a few posts over the last couple of years from dudes looking for solid tones at lower volumes. I played through a Vox Night Train a couple of days ago, and if you are one of those who posted such an add.....this IS your amp.
It is 15 tube watts. I put it through it's paces...and it is actually loud enough to play with a band. As long as you are looking for tube breakup at that volume. It doesn't stay clean long.
But.....It sounds GOOD!
If Vox would come out with a 30 watt version of this dude...I would own it, endorse it, and play through it gleefully!! My RP sounds killer in front of the 15 watter....until the extra gain kicks in to get it to stage volume. With the overhead a 30 watter might produce, these WOULD be Orange AND Sovtek killers (and I will NOT apologize for that statement!!)
I'm still thinking of grabbing the Night Train as it is. It is small, but it has punch. Check it out......
