Making Music

I was in Palm Desert all week starting on Jan 1 until today, to visit my Northern Cali in law relatives who rented a time share near out hotel. (by the way we stayed at the Shadow Ridge Golf resort a $500 a day hotel room with a great kitchen 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, which my other sister in law who is a travel agent got us for $89 a night). Anyways my niece Grace who is a music major at Sonoma State College does this summer music festival near Clear Lake area. I asked what about uncle Daver doing a set? and she said great. Some of you might remember I did a version of Hey Joe with her last summer and it turned out fairly well. She also said lets do the Hey Joe thing together live, which of course I said great we'll do it. Me playing lead and her doing the vocals.

Anyways I have not performed live since the mid 1970's and I have never done vocals live (except for my very first days doing music singing background as the baritone in an a-capella group known as the Soundmasters back in New Jersey) It should be interesting. I put together my set today consisting of all the covers I do, and the other half of my own original tunes.

Truth be told I never had stage fright, and I always got us the tips when I played lead guitar for the 2 groups I played out with, because I used to shoot the shit with the audience between tunes. So I should not be too nervous, (since I don't know a soul up there anyways).
Guess my DBM on tour joke is becoming a reality after all!  Knock 'em dead Dave!  :D :)
It's never too late for a new beginning ! Go ahead, DBM!

:)

Ciao!

Thanks, I did my pick of the tunes last evening and am rehearsing it every few days until the deed in 6 months.
Excellent.   :)   Don't forget to record it on a portable whatnot and then post it here !
I am sure my brother in law will do a video of the thing. I will not be going to do any recording or anything but performing and telling the stories of why I wrote or decided to record the tunes.
