Paul's second effort or Ironsheep's first???  :-?

We wait and we wait...  ;)
my money's on schills.
He doesn't need it, he'd just buy yet another amp with it!  ;D
MY vote is for "Howie and the Sounds of Silence".

LOL!

.....but I happen to have 4 or 5 finished tunes I'm happy with at the moment (proof that I do track at least one new tune with every amp I buy ;D) and in one of those zones these days (at least idea wise)....now if I could just stop futzing with new gear (I JUST bought ANOTHER guitar ::)).....and put FIFA 12 down, lol! BTW, I'd never do that again. Writing stuff, recording, sharing, etc, that's all I need out of music, totally do it for "me", no more urge to "pimp thyself" with some sort of "CD"...was fun, but time consuming and not really what its all about (IMO).

Seriously....you don't need to purchase an ironsheep CD....just save the tunes of his you liketh that he up's here...been working just fine for my cheap ass anyway (that last one was a real gem) and you don't even have to search for a torrent! :P  Of course we would though I'm sure if he went that "official" route. But then he'd be forced to come up with snappier song titles then a bunch of digits. Although he's making strides with "Sneakers" and "Diminished." ;)

It does sound like Paul is steadily getting back into the swing of music but also has a handful of more pressing shit.

Volume IV   ;D

There used be a guy named Richard (RIP) who was pretty prolific at this stuff...  where the heck did he go?

yes... well, I skipped the part about actually doing the CD (;))... but, my sentiments exactly.

the only reason I can see for doing a "CD" would be to clean up and improve the mixes, performances, etc... general quality improvements. problem is, I learn new stuff about recording, playing, writing, etc all the time, like, daily*... I'd want to redo things endlessly. once started, it's something that could never end.

maybe I'll start posting in .wav format... that's kinda CD-ish. ;)

*like just the other day... I was watching a Sneap interview and he was talking about sidechaining the compressor on the bass guitar to the kick drum... omg! awesome!

The bolded part nails it so dead on for me as well.  I love creating music, tweaking sounds, and just playing in the moment, but the organization of it into a full disc takes so much more time and effort than i have available...  However some part of me still feels the need to group things together at some point, so I will hopefully be able to compile some EPs along the way.  I have some callouses building up, but now haven't picked up the guitar in a week again as our german shepherd lost his vision and we found out he has kidney disease.  So it has been a very emotional time as we are total dog lunatics here and he is family.  Luckily it turned out that his health is manageable, and he is showing remarkable adaptability and heart - he finds toys and brings them to us, he's learning his way around the house, although the stairs are off limits without us to assist him.  Basically he's acting normal, except that he can't see a damn thing.  So we have to help him.

Anyway, i can't predict a damn thing.  But I have some things simmering on low.  :0)

Duh.  I've got over 250 of his offerings saved as is, but they aren't songs with beginnings, middles and endings.  You know, something you can put on an iPOD and play like a CD.

Some, like one of his last two, you can hear the backing track continue after he's done (and on one of 'em, he needs to get someone to sing some Iron Maiden-like lyrcis to it!).

I still listen to Paul's first CD (which came out about 20 years ago I think... ;) ), I'd just like to see a few of those great IronSheep ideas get polished up and published!  :)
which one? neither had a "backing track"... curious what you're hearing.

I understand, and share, the desire for more polished work but that's what I'm learning how to do with each of these things, albeit slowly. the tunes are becoming more of what I want them to be rather than reflections of what I've been led to believe they should be... and this may or may not lead to something someone else wants to hear... and that's cool, either way.

that aside, it's not as though I have the knowledge and ability to throw out an hour of well written, played, recorded and mastered tracks whenever I feel like it and I'm just holding out on you. ;)
Just checked and, nope, turns out it wasn't a backing track, just some garbage at the end of Diminished.

It doesn't change my opinion that both of these last examples are just begging to become full songs though!  ;)
