The Watering Hole

The other day, I was looking for some VST effects since I sold all of my pedals save the one Charger made for me.  I decided to go with a Rack Pack from IK Multimedia.  What I didn't realize is that they are all part of Amplitube 4.  They give you Amplitube 4 Free, free.  Comes with 3 Amps and Cabs for Guitar and 1 Amp and cab for Bass.  They also give you a Free T-Racks Suite, which is a bunch of plug -ins.

Anyway, They give you a bunch of stuff for free for signing up.

I was amazed at how decent the stuff sounds.  (LWB's Clip for example)  I'm happy with the $55 I spent for the Rack Pack Suite.  Was shocked at the stuff that came with it for free.

I was using Peavey's Revalver for practice and such, which I think is pretty good.  I like this Amplitube.  They give you a JCM 800 model that is pretty good.

If you want a time killer.

Look at Versions on the left to find the link for the Free Version, Then it's a la carte.
I'm with you DM, I think that Amplitube 4 is a good virtual amp. I've the free version too and I've purchased 1 amp and 2 cabs from their Custom shop (a Vibroverb, the 1x15 Vibroverb cab  and a 1x12 deluxe reverb cab).
The emulation is really good but what amazed me is the "Fender Collection 2" . Just downloaded it and it sounds awesome! Great dynamic, no strong attack when I pick on strings (the boring "click" I've experienced with the Pod Hd). The Collection 2 contains a '65 super reverb,  '57 Bassman, '57 Deluxe, a twin and other fender Stuff.

I'm very very happy with AT4 (..at the moment.. :) )

....Some days at home for holidays,  so why not boring you with an AT4 clip ?

I'm still happy with it! ;)

very nice!

don't get to hear much lwb slide (could be the first time) - liked this a lot.
Sounds Great!  Nice playing.

I still dig the Amplitube 4, though I haven't played it much.  It works well VST in a DAW.  The standalone hogs the resources a bit.  Sometimes the Audio will dropout if I'm streaming some video and running Amplitube in the background.  By itself it works great.  I haven't purchased any other amps than the free ones.

There is another from Positive Grid that I have played with some.  I received an LE version for free from Focusrite.  It sounds pretty good too.  They've come a long way with ampsim technology.

BIAS has an impressive list of features, but I have not bought it or tried it. It looks pretty genius though. I have AT4, but I find the amp sims all have the same sort of "edge" to them that I don't get from a miced up amp or even from other amp sims. I also have a shitload of noise in my DI setup, so I don't really do much DI unless it's bass... my active bass and radial DI has no noise, but all my guitars buzz like I've smashed their hive and am coming for their queen.
Thanks for listening! :)

I'm not facing noise issues with AT4 but I've heard a lot of of people complaining about noise. I usually use low gain amp emulations and AT4 (only Fender amps & cabs + a TS9 )  is not noisy at all also compared with BIAS or Schuffham's S-Gear.
