Got the new DAW up and running, all hardware installed with drivers. I got Sound Forge on and CD Architect. (I had to go to my profile on the Sony website to find the reg and activation codes, and that was cool because I have no idea where the hard copies are in the house. Tomorrow Sonar and all the plugs go in. Then we shall see if it records well.
I can tell you the sound quality is a bunch better from the files I played in Sound Forge. The clarity and articulation is a bit clearer and more high fidelity than the old P4 I also have an updated XP Pro with SP3 on it., I was using the Devil's Own Crack back in the 2003 days with SP 1 (although I have a unused licensed copy to protect myself morally and legally). I simply did not want to play Microsoft's activation game back when it started with XP although it is as quick and as simple as can be.
Anyways, I could not get my SW1000XG to make sounds with XG pad so I don't know if that works, if not I will yank it outta the box and use softsynths. The Layla is working very well, which is the real important part, much more important than the SW1000XG.
So tomorrow the Sonar, and composition programs, Kontakt, Session Drummer, Waves Diamond, Waves IR1, as well as older Sonar version plugs go on. I should be up and running full speed by the end of day Saturday....... I have all the serial numbers and activation code's for the rest of the stuff it was only Sound Forge and CD Architect that worried me.
