One of my first jobs is to rescue many of the pertinent threads over at WH, I will be doing this today.

Wow, there's so many that turned out to be valuable (despite whatever topic title started the conversation) that this could take some time!  I just posted a Mark - Read me over at the Hole to hopefully convince him to just lock the forum and leave it up for a while (and maybe be able to send copies of the forum archived and zipped).

There's some real gems buried in there.  :)

yeah, there are, but not sure how many I will get moved over as my day at work turned into a shitpile fast, and I have a bunch of crap I ahve t odeal with tonight.

IF anyone wants to help in bringing things over I will gladly accept the help

It would be great to get that thread on master limiters... and there's a good thread on compression somewhere out there... I think.  There are a few, but they are going to be hard to find.  Let's hope Mark is able to hand over the files and we can bring forward the good stuff a little more clinically, and with a little more time.

I put a new topic over there to ask him to just lock his board but let us grab stuff for a while or, even better, get an archive of the place.  We'll see...

well with the new development, I am torn as to what to do, the transfer of the threads to here is pretty time consuming since you have to make sure you get all the links, pics etc moved as well.

I will grab the Master limiters one, and if I can find the compressor one.

I will be putting together some threads of information I have found useful from other sources, as well.

Another question. What recording forum do you and Paul hang out in.  I'm looking to move quickly with getting up to speed and would like another resource.  

Translation:  "Hey Richard!  How's it going??!  I heard that you and Paul were going to a party this weekend and I was wondering if I could come too!  Can I?  Can I?"

They are a modern metal crowd so very geared to todays metal, so you will see alot about/appreciation for growling/screaming/demonic vocals...

if you can stand the uppity nature, and the frequency of bashing newbies/amateurs/home studios, then you can actually gain alot of useful knowledge.  But be warned if you join and ask a simply/easy/oft asked question you will get reamed harder than any abuse received here.
