been listening to reference mixes... doing some things differently. like, no like?
I think it sounds really good. I'm just listening on standard PC Box that I use for tunes while I'm working. Volume level seems good in comparison to a George Harrison Album I have on my desktop. (Random Grab). I'll check it out later when I have more time.
I don't hear anything that sounds too far out of place. Good stuff. Track 1. Keep 'em coming! LOL :D
heh, thanks - track... 1?!?! damn, this is like track 756 or something at this point... lol.
Sounding really nice to me (at work FWIW). Groovy song too! Has a soulful feel, digging it, sounds like you may have used your fingers instead of a pick at times for the soloing (mid way). :)
thanks! intro/outro is kinda stiff... still working on that but got sidetracked to the mixing. don't want to bias it with "what to listen for" yet... if it sounds good, that's cool. I'll fill in the details later if anyone really cares. :)
hmm, don't remember if I did or not (finger pick). definitely possible - I don't think I used it intentionally but sometimes it works it's way in there anyway... heh.
Just listened again at home and it sounds better here of course. I think what I has hearing earlier was more the way the notes were played, very Knopfler-ish (or insert your fav finger style player), but I do hear the pick now where at work with those POS 2000's, I couldn't. ;)
A bit late on this but I think that generally this sounds very well balanced, although I think the high end of the entire track needs lifting a bit just to give it a bit of sizzle. I'm listening to it on the soundbar with subwoofer via bluetooth and to make it fit with everything else just seems to need anbit more top end.
Otherwise all good.
that's what I was wondering - I was listening to stuff and realized it had way more low end than I was typically mixing. I overshot it but it's a good thing that the lows didn't sound bad... "more highs" is better than "less lows" if you know what I mean. heh.
thanks!
Sounds good!
Like Jon said, I would add a bit of highs.
Sounds really good to me. I love the solo and the sounds you used for it. You have enough songs to put together an album--a lot of the final mixes , and overall mastering levels, etc, could then be dictated by the collection you choose.
cool - this really irons out some things for mixes. thanks!
