The mic is a Cascade FathHead II ribbon mic, running into a Universal Audio LA-610 preamp.  The mix is achieved by having people stand in different spots.  And obviously the room has some nice reverb.  Pretty amazing.

Have you had a chance to work with the Cascade II yourself Charger?  That's a great price for a quality ribbon.

We've got a couple of Cascades but the FatHead II was released after our buying spree had mostly ended.  I think a lot of their stuff is good quality, well QA'd for Chinese stuff.  And they offer transformer upgrades out the door, which is nice.
